plus additional languages available for assessments.

Audience

This course is for anyone involved in Hyperscale/Cloud Data Center infrastructure design, installation or management who may already have some experience but want to increase their knowledge and understanding of connectivity choices and architectures. It has been designed to ensure that the student understands not only the technology available today but new and emerging systems. The course highlights the differences that are inherent to Hyperscale data centers versus other types of data centers.

Pre-requisite experience

No pre-requisite experience is required to take this course as the subjects covered will be of interest to anyone working in the data center field. However, some prior knowledge of general data center design and installation practices might be advantageous. CommScope's SP8850 Pre-terminated data center solutions course is recommended.

Objectives

  • Define Hyperscale and Cloud Data Center environments and their architectures.
  • Help the student understand the differences between Hyperscale/Cloud data centers and other data center types.
  • Understand how changing data center technology and architecture is increasing the density required with integrated and more efficient equipment.
  • Look at fiber connectivity solutions and how density and future migration capabilities impact system selection.
  • Look at cable containment options and routing for fiber cable.
  • Review safety considerations and best practice when handling fiber optic solutions.
  • Discuss the effects of contamination on fiber connector end faces and how it can impact network performance.
  • Detail the connector inspection and cleaning regime vital to reliable network operation.
  • Ensure that the student understands fiber losses, and how to test and troubleshoot correctly.
