This course is designed for installers of the Powered Fiber Cable System. It details the processes required to install the system correctly, and how to set up the active equipment and maintain it. There are also two lessons detailing troubleshooting the electronics together with hints, recommendations and tips.

Pre-requisite experience:

No pre-requisite knowledge is required for this course but as this is designed for technicians and installers, previous exposure to data cabling installations in both internal and external environments would be advantageous.

Objectives:

This course is aimed at helping the student install and maintain a powered fiber cable system. The course works through the main components starting with the equipment in the rack, setting that up, and then the installation of the cable itself onto the extenders and end-point devices. The course provides hints and recommendations throughout using videos of termination and set-up procedures. It also advises the student on best working practices, and warranty requirements and includes two separate lessons on troubleshooting, what to look for and how to remedy any faults that might occur.
