Smart Testing for Real PIM with CommScope's Optical PIM Tester [WR9616]

This course walks students through testing for PIM in modern networks utilizing CommScope's Optical PIM Tester (OPT). Learn how to use CommScope's Optical PIM Tester, which enables active PIM testing by connecting optically to the CPRI at the base of the tower and injecting test tones into the base station downlink path, searching for PIM products in the uplink path. Students will learn how to tell if the interferer is likely due to an internal or external PIM source and utilize the the Channel Spectrum Analyzer feature of the OPT. A single tech can simultaneously test multiple frequency bands and sectors from the ground, reducing testing time and service downtime and eliminating the need for multiple test units to support multiple frequency bands.
