SYSTIMAX Syllabus: The Current SYSTIMAX SCS Program
The classroom-based SYSTIMAX Installation and Maintenance (I&M) course and the online SYSTIMAX Design and Engineering (D&E) course provide the necessary installation and design certification training for SYSTIMAX product ranges to support the warranty. iPatch software support requires an additional qualification in the form of the Certified iPatch Support Specialist (CISS) course. These courses require re-certification in order to maintain the ability to support SYSTIMAX warranties, I&M and D&E every 2 years and CISS every year.
Design & Engineering (D&E)
Ordering 'SP3321 Design & Engineering' already has the SP3300 SYSTIMAX Overview material integrated and since 2010 automatically adds the SP3360 SYSTIMAX 360 Solutions course Free of Charge to the student's account. ALL must be completed successfully in order to support and warranty sites for Design and Engineering. This is considered a 'Design Foundation' course and is the recommended prerequisite for many of the online specialty courses. Currently to recertify the D&E re-take SP3360.
Installation and Maintenance (I&M)
From January 2011 a 2-day classroom course ND3361 Installation and Maintenance will be introduced, replacing and including the original ND3341 and the additional ND3360 previously required. I&M will include training on all SYSTIMAX products copper and fiber through to installation of iPatch Hardware. To recertify the I&M course either re-attend the ND3361 or take the SP3360 online.
New 'In-House' Installation and Maintenance (I&M)
From January 2011 a new FC3361 (Flexible Course) version of the I&M will be available to BusinessPartners. This will allow companies who have suitably qualified staff to apply to the CommScope Infrastructure Academy as a Partner ATA (Authorized Trainer Assessor). Qualification requires: full D&E, I&M and local CommScope approval. We will then enable a unique Flexible Course Facility (FCF) area of the this site to provide the ATA with training materials, student management and student training progress. This allows your company to train students in the I&M without having to attend formal classrooms. Upon completion full I&M certification is recognised and provided by the CommScope Infrastructure Academy.
Certified iPatch Support Specialist (CISS)
Required for iPatch Software support, the pre-requisite for BusinessPartners is the online SP5500 iPatch Design and Engineering then the classroom PC Lab based course ND5510 Certified iPatch Support Specialist (CISS). Recertification of the CISS is required annually by taking the online SP5510R CISS recertification course.
Authorized SYSTIMAX BusinessPartners must ensure that they have sufficiently trained personnel to support warranty applications for the appropriate solution. The CommScope BusinessPartner locator, used by customers to select BusinessPartners, also shows training and qualifications.
The other courses in the syllabus are designed to support specific product and solutions requirements. Depending upon your experience we recommend you take the SP3321 as a foundation prior to taking the Specialist courses but the detailed course descriptions will help you make this decision. Each course is recognized by BICSI and carries BICSI Continuing Education Credits.
Notations: SP = Self Paced format - ND = Classroom - FC = Flexible Course
Throughout 2011 more courses will become available online and existing courses will, where necessary be revised. There may be some variation in regional delivery and courses may be given as classroom courses with local language instruction until available online in translated formats. For more information we publish a monthly newsletter sent by email and you can check in 'Courses' and with the 'News'.
