The purpose of the Drop Installation Fundamentals course is to provide broadband installers with knowledge and guidance in the key areas required to perform broadband installation and troubleshooting. Describe the characteristics of the cables used within the drop system.
Identify the types of cables used within the drop system.
Demonstrate proper cable handling, preparation, and connectorization techniques of cables used within the drop system.
Explain the function and use of interfaces and terminations within the customer’s premises.
Distinguish passive and active devices within the customer’s premises, and discuss their functions and use.
Demonstrate the safe and proper use of various hand tools.
Recognize safe coaxial cable bonding practices in various circumstances.
Pass the final course assessment.
