The student is expected to already be experienced in SYSTIMAX Infrastructure Design and have taken the SP8800 Data Center Design & Engineering course, which can be considered an introduction to Data Center Design.
This course starts with an overview of Data Center Solutions and moves quickly on to Infrastructure considerations including 'green' initiatives that are becoming so important in today's Data Center designs along with a detailed look at thermal management. Data Center Technologies includes the latest in trends, server and storage hardware and how these and Convergence technologies address the trends. Data Center Architectures provides a detailed look well beyond that of the SP8800 course looking at Direct Connect, Top of Rack, Zone, Unified Fabric and other cabling architecture concepts. Pre-terminated Copper Solutions for the Data Center is introduced for the first time in the 88 Data Center series of courses specifically looking at InstaPATCH® Cu.
This course includes a detailed review of the Pre-Terminated fiber Data Center product InstaPATCH® which is now at InstaPATCH® 360 product level - this will serve as an update to those who have taken SP8800 in the past. The course then covers Planning for 10Gbps and beyond and is completed with a look at the increasingly important 'Intelligent Data Center'.
