The course covers OSP safety, Right of Way considerations, cable installation methodology, Splicing and Connectorization. Recommended for Design Specialists already skilled in Design and Engineering (SP3321) and wanting to understand fiber technology and solutions in more depth.

The SP4400 is the pre-requisite to the SP4410 CommScope OSP Fiber Design and Engineering to qualify as a Fiber OSP Specialist. 

The course goes well beyond that covered within the specific design courses and takes the student to a fiber 'specialist' level.

The course covers Fiber Optic OSP Safety OSHA, MSDS, Safety Considerations, confined space safety, Marking and APWA codes, Right of Way Permits, Eminent Domains, Easements, Avoiding Damages. Cable placement practices, Direct buried, Underground conduit, Aerial, Plowing CIC. OSP Aerial power separation codes and pulling techniques.
Installation checklists for Underground installations and OSP to ISP transition at the EF/ER, OSP Enclosures and Splicing.

Videos Include:
OSP Cable jacket preparation, Connector termination, Fusion splicing and OSP Splice enclosure termination.
